Cochins
Swedish Flower Hens
As a Swedish landrace, this breed was created through natural selection and random pairings as the breed adapted to the climate and conditions hundreds of years ago. The name derives from the complex and brilliant color feather patterns of the birds that evoke the image of a tangle of wildflowers. Swedes have an exceptional personality and hardiness. They are prolific layers of cream to light pink eggs.
